C.H. Spurgeon

Sinners, let me address you with words of life; Jesus wants nothing from you, nothing whatsoever, nothing done, nothing felt; he gives both work and feeling. Ragged, penniless, just as you are, lost, forsaken, desolate, with no good feelings, and no good hopes, still Jesus comes to you, and in these words of pity he addresses you, "Him that cometh unto me I will in no wise cast out."

Appeasing the Monkey

Is this article for real?

Is the Church of England, according to Rev Dr Malcolm Brown, apologizing to Darwin, 126 years after his death, basically stating that the church was incorrect to trust the Bible over Darwin’s misconceptions of creation?

Oh my, how far man has bowed to appease the monkey.

note: 'monkey' is not a reference to Darwin himself.

How many times do you have to be reminded that we are not directly descended from monkeys?

Oh jeez, I forgot. You are a fundie Christian. Fundie Christians are a little bit lower on the revolutionary scale than mere monkeys.

So you would rather I use the word 'ape' or 'apelike'?

I would rather that you move to the mountains and abandon all forms of technology as soon as possible. Bring your Christian brethren as well.

I guess that would solve the atheist problem, if all of the Christians would 'move to the mountains and abandon all forms of technology as soon as possible.'

Well maybe not...

I think it was Dawkins who said on page 5 of his The God Delusion book, “Indeed, organizing atheists has been compared to herding cats, because they tend to think independently and will not conform to authority.”

Yeah, could you imagine that incharge of the country?

What Tim is saying is on the intellectual level. It means atheists think independently and do not usually conform to standard social thinking.

If you are alluding his statement to mean all atheists do not follow civil law and are crooks, go and take a hard look at the federal prison numbers. You might be in for a nasty surprise.

With regards to who is ruling the country, I think you are talking about the Presidential Race.

Consider this:

1. Mc Cain is 72, has multiple cases of cancer, and has a high chance of going 6 feet under before he completes his term. That leaves the beauty queen, Sarah Palin at the helm.

2. Sarah Palin has only been a governor for less than 2 yrs, only got her passport last year, and has absolutely no foreign diplomatic experience.

3. Sarah hinted that she would not hesitate to go to war with Russia. You want a WWIII so Jebus can come back for a rapture? She's your best bet.

4. Sarah Palin hates polar bears, loves to drill for oil in nature reserves, and basically doesn't give much though to environmental issues.

5. Sarah Palin is religious, so much so that she thinks that the war in Iraq is fought based on God's will. Doesn't that scare you a little?

John Bunyan

To be saved is to be preserved in the faith to the end. 'He that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.' (Mt. 24:13) Not that perseverance is an accident in Christianity, or a thing performed by human industry; they that are saved 'are kept by the power of God, through faith unto salvation.' (1 Pet. 1: 3-6) But perseverance is absolutely necessary to the complete saving of the soul…. He that goeth to sea with a purpose to arrive at Spain, cannot arrive there if he be drowned by the way; wherefore perseverance is absolutely necessary to the saving of the soul.
