C.H. Spurgeon

Sinners, let me address you with words of life; Jesus wants nothing from you, nothing whatsoever, nothing done, nothing felt; he gives both work and feeling. Ragged, penniless, just as you are, lost, forsaken, desolate, with no good feelings, and no good hopes, still Jesus comes to you, and in these words of pity he addresses you, "Him that cometh unto me I will in no wise cast out."

Racism Comes In All Colors

Sadly, a recently married couple was ‘found gagged, tied and shot in the head on Oct. 15 in the living room of their home in Winchester.’ With most of the talk about marriage these days seemingly centered around the press of homosexuals desiring to redefine the Biblical definition of such, there is still the difference of opinion regarding interracial relationships. Such a topic arises when speaking of slain, Jan Pawek Pietrzak and Quiana Faye Jenkins-Pietrzak.

I find it most interesting that some of the reports would have us believe ‘the motive was financial in nature,’ but the idea of the couple being interracial, that apparently two of the four men served with Pietrzak as Marines, and both of the couple’s mothers seem to believe there is more to the story than simply robbery…hmm…Even BlackVoices seem to believe the couple being interracial had something to do with the murders. Just how many robberies end with the persons ‘tortured before they were shot execution-style’ and other disturbing reports?

Truth be told, if this had been four white men there is very little doubt in my mind that the racism card would have been played by the media. Such is why I found it odd that a good number of the initial reports seemed to suppress the race of the suspects (not the article I have posted here obviously). Although the majority of race crimes which seem to get headlines are those committed by white persons, to be honest, ‘Racism Comes In All Colors.’

Genesis 9:6Whoso sheddeth man's blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man.

Regardless of race and regardless of the reason, this couple was robbed of life and their families of their presence, by the sin of murder (and possibly more also).

Thank you for addressing this issue here at the blog. As a black woman who is a former Marine who is also in an interracial relationship, I was shocked and saddened by this recent act of violence. I'm glad to see that other people are talking about this not just the "black media." I don't like the way the mainstream media is trying to downplay this as a hate crime. The fact the Pietrzaks are an interracial couple is important to emphasize because as you said, racism comes in all colors, and if someone wants to disbelieve what Hebrews 13 says about marriage being "Honorable in all" and kill these two beautiful young people simply because they don't like it, that is a sin as well as a crime. May the Pietrzaks rest in peace and justice be served on their behalf.

Racism is more likely to be motivated by religion.

John Bunyan

To be saved is to be preserved in the faith to the end. 'He that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.' (Mt. 24:13) Not that perseverance is an accident in Christianity, or a thing performed by human industry; they that are saved 'are kept by the power of God, through faith unto salvation.' (1 Pet. 1: 3-6) But perseverance is absolutely necessary to the complete saving of the soul…. He that goeth to sea with a purpose to arrive at Spain, cannot arrive there if he be drowned by the way; wherefore perseverance is absolutely necessary to the saving of the soul.
