Hole Lotta’ Shaking Going On!

A friend of mine sent me a link to a blog post entitled, Holy Hole!

Apparently, the Muslims (or at least some) are blaming the Israelis for the “5.3-magnitude earthquake,” claiming they are “digging tunnels in the area that undermine the stability in the area of the Al-Aqsa mosque.” The Islamic Movement “urged Islamic states to take action to stop Israeli excavations in the area.”

It is interesting at the blog to note “the hole was a meter deep, two meters long and meter and a half wide” compared to a 1927 shot of Jerusalem.

Scripture does call for the rebuilding of the Jewish temple:

Revelation 11
1 And there was given me a reed like unto a rod: and the angel stood, saying, Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and them that worship therein.
2 But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.
3 And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

I have heard and read, but not really intensive study, that the Jewish temple could be rebuilt near or next to the Dome of the Rock, for the Dome of the Rock would merely be inside “the court which is without the temple” that is left out and “given unto the Gentiles.”

When Time Shall Be No More

“And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the world?” [Matthew 24:3]

According to Discover, brought to my attention by a friend of mine:

“The meaning of time has become terribly problematic in contemporary physics,” says Simon Saunders, a philosopher of physics at the University of Oxford. “The situation is so uncomfortable that by far the best thing to do is declare oneself an agnostic.” (emphasis mine)

Here is my question to: “The possibility that time may not exist is known among physicists as the “problem of time.””

If time does not exist, what does that do with the rest of science’s theories based on time? Would they then become nonexistent as well?

Oh, to understand the mind and magnificence of the Almighty, Holy God, though a lifetime would not allow such mortals as us to comprehend.

Mark of the Beast Confusion

Sent to me, by a friend of mine, was a news article from FOXNews.com about a young man who had apparently “believed he bore the "mark of the beast" [and] used a circular saw to cut off one hand, [and] then he cooked it in the microwave and called 911, authorities said.”

There has been discussion concerning “mental health” in these articles, but they all seem to leave a lot to be desired as to fully understand the context of what may have transpired for this man to do such. The article truly falls short when it comes to much of the story, but I noticed they made sure to include the Scripture references of Revelation and Matthew. They are as follows:

Revelation 14:
9 And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand,
10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:

Matthew 5:
30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

First off, these two references quoted are two totally different contexts. Revelation is speaking of prophecy of the Tribulation period, concerning the Antichrist and end times, whereas Matthew is speaking of the Sermon on the Mount, concerning what the things of God really mean (concerning our daily lives) verses what the Pharisees claimed they meant.

Second, when it comes to the mark of the beast, it will not be “thy right hand offend thee”, but the heart and depravity of the individuals which “worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand” instead of placing faith in the One True Holy Almighty God.

They will be deceived by the beast (Antichrist) and the false prophet, whereby they will setup a system that only those which receive the mark may partake, but shall be cast into the lake of fire by God, along with Satan and all those who take the mark and reject Christ.

Repent and put faith in Jesus Christ, and He will forever keep you from taking the mark, “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”

When Sight Is Too Late

Sometimes we hear people say, “If God is real, why can’t we see Him” or “Why doesn’t He show Himself”? It should come as no surprise, for mankind is very much a sight oriented creature. “See it, to believe it” theology seems to be bound somewhere inside the very core of our DNA.

Scripture says that we are to put faith in Christ, which indeed is against our desire of wanting to see, but we must remember that there were plenty of those which physically saw Christ (even religious leaders) yet denied Him as the Messiah and Savior of lost man. Sight does not guarantee belief or acceptance.

But, because we serve a holy, just, and loving God, He will indeed give people what they have cried out for: “Show yourself!” “Here am I”. The problem will be that Sight Is Too Late.

Revelation 6:12-17 speaks of mankind getting their request answered, for they would now be able to see the Creator. Did they embrace Him; do they welcome Him into their lives and hearts?

15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains; 16 And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

But I thought the cry was “Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe.”

Of a much greater concern is where one may find themselves in the end, if they refuse to accept salvation by faith in Christ, to have sins forgiven, and fellowship restored with God at the present. (Matthew 7:22, 23; Revelation 20)

11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. 12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. 13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works. 14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Indeed we shall all see God, for it is written, “every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God.” Just don’t withhold putting faith in Christ for the sake of not physically seeing Him, for at the judgment, Sight Is Too Late.

“New” Millennium, Where Are You

To my knowledge, there are three formal views, yet there are those which take bits and pieces from some or each, which do not fall completely into one category. If you would, I ask that you post which view you subscribe and maybe a small why description, that we may all see the “other” side. Thanks!

Below each, I have noted why I accept or reject each view.

postmillennial viewpoint—Christ’s Kingdom is spreading throughout the world, and God’s justice will prevail across the earth prior to Christ’s return. After his reign is established through his people for a long duration (not necessarily a literal thousand years), Christ will physically return to an already utopian world.

Simply knowing human history through the pages of scripture, I find it difficult to believe that mankind would have the spirituality and/or power to bind the workings of Satan to allow Christ to return to a “utopian world”.


premillennial viewpoint—which would include much of dispensational theology and the teaching of a variety of scholars throughout church history—the Millennium will be a literal thousand year reign of Christ, which will begin immediately upon his return when he defeats his enemies in the battle of Armageddon. During these thousand years, God’s promises of the Messiah’s earthly reign will be fulfilled. Redeemed Jews will live in their homeland, and (according to some teachings) the church will govern the world with Christ. The Millennium will end with a final rebellion, and the old Earth will be replaced by, or transformed into, the New Earth.

I personally subscribe to this view as the truth or at the least the closest to biblical truth. It appears to grasp or flow from scripture easily without any need to search, twist, or reach for biblical support.


amillennial viewpoint—including most Reformed theology and the teaching of many scholars throughout church history—the Millennium isn’t a literal thousand years, nor is it a future state. Rather, the events depicted in Revelation 20:3-7 are happening right now as Christ’s church reigns with him over the earth, in victorious triumph empowered by his death and resurrection. The saints rule over the earth from the intermediate Heaven, where they dwell with Christ.

I find fault with this view in conjunction with: Revelation 20:3, And cast him [Satan] into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.

It appears to me that the nations have been and still are being deceived by Satan before, during, and after the crucifixion even up till today. I don’t see a time in history where Satan has been supposedly bound for any amount of time, nor do I believe we are currently in the “little season”.


panmillennial viewpoint—for the sake of a friend of mine that just believes “it will all pan out in the end”.

How can I disagree? We know Christ wins in the end.

Thank goodness we serve the God of gods, Lord of lords, and Kings of kings!

Have You Seen My New Shoes?

Do you know where your child’s sneakers are? For about $350.00 you can, according to news reports from Fox News [here & here], dated 2/9/2007. But you better hurry. There is a limited number of only 1000 being sold and 750 are already accounted for.

A man by the name of Isaac Daniel has been working on a prototype tiny “Global Positioning System” 2 inch by 3 inch chip, he calls “peace of mind”, that would be located inside of a pair of sneakers, available in six designs, with the ability to be tracked “anywhere in the world with the press of a button”.

Apparently a children’s line will be available this summer.

The article notes that these chips, or similar ones, can already be found in cell phones, watches, bracelets, and other items people wear. Shoes are just easier to keep up with.

The GPS system in the shoes will work when the wearer presses the “on” button, and the users [or their parents] pay the monthly service fee of $19.95.

But before you say, “We can just turn it off when we want to, and they won’t find us”, the person paying the $19.95 to the monitoring service provider is also able to call with the correct password and have the sneakers “come alive” remotely. And yes, you will incur all “law enforcement costs” if it is not an emergency.

Also, if you are worried about your child out growing the shoes, the device will be removable to place into another set of shoes from the same company.

Apparently the company also puts its technology into military boots.

So, why even talk about this subject?

This technology is also in cars [OnStar], it is also in pets [Avid], so just by simple human reasoning, where would you supposed would be the next logical step? Cars can be abandoned and wearable items can be discarded, so there is really only one way to ensure the location of your child isn’t there?

The book of Revelation speaks of a mark either place in the hand or in the head being a requirement in the last days, during the seven year Tribulation period.

I know, I know, it is easy to say, “You’ve got to be joking right”? I am not claiming to be a prophet; I am only claiming to believe scripture.

Before you totally discount what I am saying, you may want to consider an article written by Sam Witt January 14, 1999 [here]. “Is the human body a fit place for a microchip? The debate is no longer hypothetical. The same computing power that once required an entire building to harness now can be inserted in your left arm.”

I ask only that you consider this. People don’t mind putting the device in their vehicles [for the sake of emergency], people and societies don’t mind putting it in their pets [for the sake of loss, stolen and abandonment], and people don’t mind wearing and having their children wear items for the sake of convenience and safety.

When all this fails, due to the fact that the person can be detached from all of those items, the only alternative will be to have a chip or implant directly placed within the body itself. Although the hand could be removed, the head cannot without bringing about the death of the individual.

I am not trying to scare anyone; I just believe that this should be taken into consideration so that when you see the technology presented [for it will come] you will not be taken by surprise.

So, for the time, I would stick to Payless shoes…
