C.H. Spurgeon

Sinners, let me address you with words of life; Jesus wants nothing from you, nothing whatsoever, nothing done, nothing felt; he gives both work and feeling. Ragged, penniless, just as you are, lost, forsaken, desolate, with no good feelings, and no good hopes, still Jesus comes to you, and in these words of pity he addresses you, "Him that cometh unto me I will in no wise cast out."

Big Bucks - Big Guesses - Big Bang Machine

Apparently, 'At 12:30 a.m. EDT Wednesday, scientists on the Franco-Swiss border will flip the switch on the Large Hadron Collider, a 17-mile underground ring where subatomic particles will be accelerated to astonishing speeds and then smashed into each other.' [article]

I couldn’t help but think of the following clip from Men in Black, when I read this article:

Do they hope to create a little universe within this machine, so they can play as a god? I sure hope it doesn’t 'create a black hole or strange self-replicating particle that will gobble up the Earth.' But, just maybe, 'we should expect visitors from the future to arrive soon after it goes into operation.'

:0)

Enjoy!

Update: 9/22

Ooops, a few problems... http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,425669,00.html

'It then causes the protons to collide, revealing how the tiniest particles were first created after the "big bang," which many theorize was the massive explosion that formed the stars, planets and everything.'

Really? I think they forgot to write 'revealing how [some believe] the tiniest particles were first created...'

Lol.

I know christians like yourself have been crying Doomsday ever since this machine was in the making.

Like I said, Science is not about building castles in the air. Its about looking for hard evidence, and these scientists, and their honest endeavors, should throw us light into the beginnings of our fledging universe (and no, the universe is not 10000 yrs old).

You never seem to cease ridiculing science. I wonder when the time will come when you will fully live up to your creed and shed your hypocrisy.

Pack up your things, ditch your computer, your fridge and anything that has to do with science, with move to the mountains where you belong.

I have told you, I am not against all science; I am simply against the lies of unregenerate scientists that wish to fool the people into believing there is proof of things where there isn’t, and that would have us rather believe there is no God and accept theories with no salt.

"Unregenerate Scientists"? So you are now resorting to insult professionals who refute your 10000 yr old universe and 6000 yr old Earth creationist bull?

Lolz. Science does not "fool" people. They conduct experiments to prove their hypothesis and scientific theories (which is not just any theory). And that is what the collider was built for (which, incidentally, has succeeded in colliding the particles without causing armaggedon. Kind of a kill joy for ye naysayers, eh???)

Before you call people "unregenerate", consider the throngs of hypocrites who work under the banner of God (And that includes you).

Insult or fact Beast?

un·re·gen·er·ate: 'refusing to believe in the existence of God'

BEAST FCD said...

unregenerate

/unrijennrt/

• adjective not reforming or showing repentance; obstinately wrong or bad

That, Tim, is an insult.

oh, by the way, that definition is from oxford, not Websters.

Tim, if you have nothing to blog, don't blog. Posts like these are going to invite a blasting for more intelligent folks like myself.

I will suggest you keep a bit of dignity and keep your nonsense to yourself. You obviously have no appreciation for science (unlike me: I spent hours upon hours in my school metallurgy lab slogging on and conducting metallurgy experiments), don't know squat what you are talking about and consistently making a fool of yourself for the past one years or so since I posted on your blog.

Of course, you are free to ignore my advice, and I will still smash your nonsense as and when I see fit, so that Christians who come to your blog can discern who is making sense and who is not.

Next time you start calling scientists "unregenerate", don't blame me for calling you a stupid moron and an ignoranamous. Cos that is what you are, really. The pig-headed baptist moron.

The unregenerate are unregenerate until they are regenerated (born again spiritually) by God. Accept it or reject it, it doesn't change the Truth.

Tim

BEAST FCD said...

The morons are morons until they see the error of their ways. Accept it or reject it, but it doesn't change the fact that you are a moron.

What you term "Truth" isn't truth; just mere doctrine.

Truth is where you will find in science labs. In museums. In secular classrooms.

Doctrine is what you find in Churches.

Get your definition right.

Hi Mr Unregenerate

The Large Hadron Collider hasn't really destroyed the planet yet.....kind of a kill joy for you, ain't it? Getting ready for the Rapture......hoping for the destruction of the planet and.......aw.......nothing happens.

That's ok, Tim. Cos Jebus ain't coming through any black holes yet. Keep waiting, Tim. And Hoping.

Beast,

Hahaha...the Large Hadron Collider hasn't solved the misconception of a mystical Big Bang either has it? Didn't think so.

Tim

BEAST FCD said...

No one said it will solve everything about the big bang,eh?

Besides, the LHC hasn't been maxed up yet. Any useful data will only come in in a year's time.

In the meantime, you can dream on about Armageddon.......

Mystical Big Bang, eh?

We shall see, won't we?

Check this out: Teleportation of protons.

The Science of Playing God is all good, tim. This could be the key to a faster computer in the future, and maybe, someday, we get to teleport ourselves too.

Still want to be stuck in the fairytale world of your religion? Get real, Tim.

We are the Gods of this planet. Your God is dead. Finished.

Beast: 'We are the Gods of this planet.'

1 Corinthians 8:
5 For though there be that are called gods, whether in heaven or in earth, (as there be gods many, and lords many,)
6 But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

2 Corinthians 4:
3 But if our gospel be hid, it is hid to them that are lost:
4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Lol Tim

You seem delighted with the damage of the Hadron Collider......why, Tim? You do not wish Science to discover the secrets of the Universe, hence destroying the myth of your silly deities?

John Bunyan

To be saved is to be preserved in the faith to the end. 'He that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.' (Mt. 24:13) Not that perseverance is an accident in Christianity, or a thing performed by human industry; they that are saved 'are kept by the power of God, through faith unto salvation.' (1 Pet. 1: 3-6) But perseverance is absolutely necessary to the complete saving of the soul…. He that goeth to sea with a purpose to arrive at Spain, cannot arrive there if he be drowned by the way; wherefore perseverance is absolutely necessary to the saving of the soul.
