C.H. Spurgeon

Sinners, let me address you with words of life; Jesus wants nothing from you, nothing whatsoever, nothing done, nothing felt; he gives both work and feeling. Ragged, penniless, just as you are, lost, forsaken, desolate, with no good feelings, and no good hopes, still Jesus comes to you, and in these words of pity he addresses you, "Him that cometh unto me I will in no wise cast out."

Pink Is Their Color

A rare pink dolphin has been seen in the waters of “in Calcasieu Lake, an estuary just north of the Gulf of Mexico in southwestern Louisiana.”

Here are some pictures. [Link]

“There is a species of pink dolphin that lives in the Amazon River in South America, but this one appears to be a more common bottlenose dolphin.”

"It appears to be an uncanny freak of nature, an albino dolphin, with reddish eyes and glossy pink skin," the Web site reads. "It is small in comparison to the others it is traveling with and appears to be a youngster traveling with mama."

Does this mean there could be merit to the “Invisible Pink Unicorn”?

Wait a second there - how can there be a 'pink' invisible unicorn? If it's invisible you can't see the color. :-)

I saw these pictures today - thought they were great! :-)

Also, my rss feed must be messing up because I didn't realize anything had been posted since last week. Good thing I checked and came back to see all the spiritual stuff you're posting, you know, about pretty pink dolphins and such. :-)

lol - the "Invisible Pink Unicorn (IPU)" is an atheist attempt to disprove God.

------------
The IPU is commonly used to highlight the perceived fallacious or arbitrary nature of supernatural beliefs by, for example, replacing the word "God" in any theistic statement with "Invisible Pink Unicorn".[3] A quote from the alt.atheism FAQ sums up this use of the Invisible Pink Unicorn:

"The point of this silliness is to prod the theist into remembering that their preaching is likely to be viewed by atheists as having all the credibility and seriousness of [the atheists'] preaching about the IPU."[4]

I knew - I'd just read the article. It was my somewhat lame attempt at sarcasm. :-)

Duh. Technically, the dolphin isn't pink. It lacks pigmentation, hence the pinkish glow on its skin and in the eyes.

Albinos exist in most species, including humans. Its a genetic defect that leaves the afflicted animal or human vulnerable to the radiation of the sun. There's nothing funny about being an albino.

Even so, the article says, "There is a species of pink dolphin that lives in the Amazon River in South America", so there are pink dolphins that are apparently not albino.

The pink dolphin isn't exactly "pink". Take a look at the picture.

From the article you posted,

"The boto can vary in colour from a memorable bright pink colour through to a murky brown, grey, blue-grey or creamy white. When young, the dolphins are a light grey and develop in colour later on. When they are excited or surprised, they become pinker - almost as if they are blushing."

When I blush, my face becomes red. Are you going to call me a red tomato???

Please inform me as to your purpose into such a pointless debate concerning such a simple post.

I am merely quoting articles - "The boto can vary in colour from a memorable bright pink colour" - you are free to argue with them over the color pink.

Nothing serious. Just to rile you up a bit, as usual.

John Bunyan

To be saved is to be preserved in the faith to the end. 'He that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.' (Mt. 24:13) Not that perseverance is an accident in Christianity, or a thing performed by human industry; they that are saved 'are kept by the power of God, through faith unto salvation.' (1 Pet. 1: 3-6) But perseverance is absolutely necessary to the complete saving of the soul…. He that goeth to sea with a purpose to arrive at Spain, cannot arrive there if he be drowned by the way; wherefore perseverance is absolutely necessary to the saving of the soul.
