C.H. Spurgeon

Sinners, let me address you with words of life; Jesus wants nothing from you, nothing whatsoever, nothing done, nothing felt; he gives both work and feeling. Ragged, penniless, just as you are, lost, forsaken, desolate, with no good feelings, and no good hopes, still Jesus comes to you, and in these words of pity he addresses you, "Him that cometh unto me I will in no wise cast out."

Seeking To Have the Next Generation Accept Homosexuality

Apparently, there has been some dismay concerning, “The State of New Jersey mandates that all school children be taught a diversity curriculum by the fourth grade”. [Article]

You may ask, what was the problem some had with the “diversity curriculum”?

The school showed a film, “That’s a Family!” which, “looks at diversity through the eyes of children who talk about their own families.” There was a topic on single parents, traditional parents, adoptive parents, divorced parents, but then they also had lesbian parents (Betty and Kim).

As Christians, we realize what Scripture says about marriage, and what it says about homosexuality. Currently, the majority of society does not see homosexuality as a moral, acceptable alternative lifestyle, which they would like to receive the same benefits and name as the moral, acceptable marriage of heterosexuals.

It should be obvious, to any honest onlooker, that the purpose of showing third (or now fourth) graders such a film, is to give them the impression that homosexuality should be, just as acceptable and equally moral as heterosexuality. It is clear, that since they are unable to force this pretence on modern society, they are reaching out to convert the children; therefore, hoping the children will one day bring the sinful act of homosexuality into the minds of the people, to be a moral and acceptable way of life.

I checked it out, and apparently, “New Jersey began issuing civil union licenses to same-sex couples in February 2007, joining Vermont and Connecticut in pioneering the marriage alternative.” This gives reason as to why the “diversity curriculum” in New Jersey would desire to include homosexuality in its teaching of “Family”.

As it has always been, the fight is for our children. Are we going to properly pray, read, and study God’s Word to teach it to our children, or will we allow the world to continue to discredit Scripture, calling it archaic, to embrace that which God calls sin, in turn demanding that God judge and condemn America, as He did Sodom and Gomorrah?

To deny acceptance, to be given to homosexuality, is NOT to say one agrees with hate crimes that may be committed against them. It does say that we believe homosexuality to be a sin against God, and is therefore NOT moral and should not be accepted in any way, shape, or form.

One may claim I am just intolerant, and should promote tolerance.

I reply, stop being intolerant of Christian values, and be tolerant to what is right and intolerant to that which is ungodly.

My reply back: Stop being intolerant of gays, stop prying behind your neighbour's closed door and mind your own business.

There wouldn't even be a gay rights movement if Christians would stop trying to tell people how to have sex. Its a very simple solution to a very simple problem.

Why should I be tolerant with stupid piety and narrow-minded opinions of religious bigotry? Your demands are simply outrageous.

In any case, I think being "ungodly" is moral, considering that your deity is no more than a petty despot and tyrant.

Actually the problem arose when homosexuals came "out of their closets", and began to demand that we accept homosexuality as moral and right.

Its a very simple solution to a very simply problem.
Actually sin is a very big problem, but the solution is repentance of sin and putting faith in Jesus Christ.

In reality, Tim, there's no such thing as sin. It's all in your head. it doesn't exist.

Homosexuals only want gay marriage for gay people. They don't want to pass a law that states that every single man must run out and marry another man (or two women get married). So if you don't want a gay marriage, don't get one. This is why Christians appear to be biggoted - because they want EVERYONE to abide by THEIR belief system. If the gay people aren't Christians (which I'm going to assume that you assume they aren't because they're gay), then why should they be bound by Christianity's rules? The only reason they slam Christianity is because it's standing in the way of something that it shouldn't. Christians didn't invent marriage, why do they get to define it?

What are you people so afraid of? If it really is a sin, they'll all go to hell when they die, and you won't have to witness gay marriages in Heaven for eternity. You'll forget all about them in 1,000,000 years in Paradise, right?

Anonymous,

Actual homosexuality is/was against the law.

This is why homosexuals also appear biggoted (if one chooses to use this term), because as you say, "Christians appear to be biggoted - because they want EVERYONE to abide by THEIR belief system", this is also true for the homosexual.

Although, they may not believe that everyone must be homosexual, but they do "want EVERYONE to abide by THEIR belief system" everyone should believe that homosexuality should be legal, moral, and acceptable.

Although, it is true, Christianity is completely against homosexuality, remember, the law is/was standing in the way of homosexuality.

Homosexuals did not invent marriage, so why do they get to change the view of it?

You ask, "What are you people so afraid of"? We realize, by looking at Scripture, if we do not speak out against sin, then America will endure the wrath of God. This life does matter, and should not simple look to the future, allowing anything to happen here, simply, as you put it, "they'll all go to hell when they die, and you won't have to witness gay marriages in Heaven for eternity." I honestly do not want a single soul to go to hell. I wish all would believe. I take no pleasure in the thoughts of not worring about people now, for they will just burn in hell. To speak against sin, is to hope that people's hearts will be convicted and that they will be turned away from such, and turn to Christ for salvation.

Spanish Inquistor,

Sin is any transgression against the law of God. I realize that you do not believe in God, therefore do not believe in His law, therefore do not believe in sin.

You do believe in right and wrong thought, don't you? You just don't believe you are held accountable to a holy God over it.

Sin is just a word. A concept. It didn't exist before man invented it. It doesn't now. It's just a means of describing something that religion thinks is immoral or wrong. You can't see sin, you can't feel it. You can't hold one in your hand. It's all in the mind.

If it helps you run your life, by using a shorthand categorization to describe something bad, feel free. But again, don't judge me or anyone else, and in particular, don't make me change anything about myself based on your internal, non-existent concept of sin.

Keep it to your self.

Everyone would get along a lot better if they did that. Look at the Muslims. They think it's a sin to publish a cartoon of Mohammad. Fine. Believe that. But don't kill people who had nothing to do with it.

Earlier you said:

Stop being intolerant of gays
I ask for them to stop being intolerant of the commands of God.

Who are you or any man to insist that someone not sin? That someone not be intolerant of god's commands? That's between you and your god. DO NOT impose your morality on me.

It also used to be illegal for women to vote, and for black people to use the same schools/churches/water fountains as white people. Does that mean women and black people were biggoted until those laws were changed? I find it a lot more reasonable to say that it was probably more a case of white men being biggoted.
Homosexuals don't need everyone to think that gay marriage is "moral" and "good" - they probably don't care WHAT all the Christians think. They just want to get married. Them getting married does not affect any non-gay Christian's life AT ALL, but Christians making it impossible for them to get married ARE affecting their life, which is why Christians are the biggoted ones.
Homosexuality was only ever illegal because of the Bible - it doesn't hurt anyone. Murder and robbery and assault are all illegal for blatantly obvious reasons (not because they're in the commandments, but because they HURT people), but homosexuality was only ever illegal for reasons based in the Scripture. If you don't believe in the Bible, then it's the most unfair thing in the world to have your happiness and your basic human rights cut short because of it. Even adultry isn't illegal, and that's written RIGHT IN the 10 Commandments. And that DOES hurt at least one person, the person getting cheated on.
I find it noble that you want everyone to find Jesus and go to heaven, but if none of my amazing, caring, loving homosexual friends are allowed in, then I don't think I want to go.

Are you not imposing your morality on me? You morality differs from my morality, yet you tell me to keep mine to myself, therefore, allowing yours to be heard.

Anonymous,

We could spend years looking through all of the laws of the land, and find those that we believe to be wrong, and some may very well be. But again, being a woman or a black person is not a sin. Homosexuality is.

As in my comments here:

Homosexuality is not only an attack against God, it is also an attack against the values of marriage. If the homosexuals did not really care that Christians, and others, do not accept them morally, they would not try to pry their way into redefining marriage, but would define themselves a new term, whereby they could fight for the rights they desire.

And homosexuality does hurt people. It causes them to go against nature, and rebel against God; therefore, causing them sin in this life and judgment in the next.

If homosexuals do not even believe in the Bible, then why try to demand people to allow you to get married anyway? Define a new term, and/or fight that rights be given to simply friendships, whether married or not?

Homosexuality is not just a simple, "Please let me get married and have some rights", and to say so is to dismiss the entire truth concerning it.

I disagree. Many animals in the animal kingdom exhibit some sort of gay sexuality. Bonono apes, for example, practice bisexuality in at least 50% of their populations. To say that homosexuality is against nature is not correct. It is in the minority, but it isn't against nature. I think I wrote about that in a post.

As for your comments on "rebellion" against God, I would think that if God has a mouth, let him speak for himself. If he is indeed a deity of omnipotence, omniscience and omnibenevolence, then I will presume that he can present his views to us, instead of using not-so-smart mortals to articulate his thoughts.

Just because something is obeserved in nature, does not make it the norm or right. Should abuse and slaying ones own child, spouse, friend, etc. be allowed, for it is also seen in nature?

Also, animals were not given the law against homosexuality, man is.

For God has spoken, by the law, the prophets, Christ, and Scripture. Man simply refuses to listen.

BEAST FCD said...

I am not saying what is normal in nature should be practiced in society. I am merely debunking your claim that homosexuality is "against nature". Clearly, it isn't, and gays do play positive roles in the animal kingdom. I already posted that, so you might want to read again.

As for laws, secular law in most countries have legalized homosexuality, and in all honesty, homosexuality is just an another expression of human sexuality and love in humanity. There really is no good cause to say that homosexuality should be banned.

If humans can overcome blatant racism in secular laws, the next stage will be to overcome blatant prejudice against those who are different.

John Bunyan

To be saved is to be preserved in the faith to the end. 'He that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.' (Mt. 24:13) Not that perseverance is an accident in Christianity, or a thing performed by human industry; they that are saved 'are kept by the power of God, through faith unto salvation.' (1 Pet. 1: 3-6) But perseverance is absolutely necessary to the complete saving of the soul…. He that goeth to sea with a purpose to arrive at Spain, cannot arrive there if he be drowned by the way; wherefore perseverance is absolutely necessary to the saving of the soul.
