C.H. Spurgeon

Sinners, let me address you with words of life; Jesus wants nothing from you, nothing whatsoever, nothing done, nothing felt; he gives both work and feeling. Ragged, penniless, just as you are, lost, forsaken, desolate, with no good feelings, and no good hopes, still Jesus comes to you, and in these words of pity he addresses you, "Him that cometh unto me I will in no wise cast out."

What Do We Know Of Religious Persecution

Here in American we have a lot of religious freedoms that around the world do not have.

In an article from www.bpnews.net it reminds us of some of the things people actually sometimes go through because of religion preference.

In Pakistan there is a draft of a new bill being brought before a committee.

Pakistan's National Assembly would require men who leave Islam to be put to death. Women convicted of "apostasy" would be sentenced to life in prison.”

Under the Apostasy Act 2006, the testimony of two adults that another person has left the Muslim religion –- or a confession by the accused -– is all that would be needed for conviction if the bill is adopted into law. The accused would be given up to 30 days to renounce the decision and return to Islam, yet even then still could be punished by up to two years in prison. All property belonging to an offender would be forfeited to Muslim relatives as well as custody of their children.”

The article continues with other persecutions of Christians.

What do we here in America know of true persecution for being a Christians? Sure there are things that happen, things that are allowed, things that are not allowed, etc. that we do not agree with, but as for persecution I just don’t believe the majority of us have an idea of what that is all about.

Maybe I am wrong. Has anyone dealt with persecution because one is a Christian whether personally or known someone here in America?

According to scripture it is coming. Are you spiritually prepared?

Let's be realistic.

Most discriminations in the US are done by Christians against gays, abortion clinics, etc.

Most of the time, it is the Christians who persecute people, not the other way round.

You have morons like Eric Rudolph bombing abortion clinics, idiots like the good to go fatty Falwell, the spitting venom of Pat Robertson, and who knows what kind of Christians all throwing persecutions and condemnations.

Funny that Christians want to claim the role of the abused, when most of the time, they are the abuser.

I'll admit that there are some Christians that spill hate speech and perform violent acts, but this cannot be broadened to include all Christians nor can it be narrowed to include only Christians.

Christians are not the ones doing it to Christians.

As for atheists, I sure hope you don't think that they are all perfect citizens that never discriminate, hate, or spew garbage. I've seen it on blogs (where one is more likely to write what they may not actually say to ones face), so I know it exists.

People show their character by their actions whether theists or atheists.

Of course there are types of discrimitation such as removing the 10 Commandments because of "seperation of church and state" speeches while perverted images labeled as "art" can remain viewable to minors. Hmmm...

But who said the world is Equal Opportunity? Not even "Survival of the Fittest" claims that much.

Oh yes beast, let's equate the "spitting venom of Pat Robertson" with other violent acts.

Are you married? Do realize that marriage is a form of discrimination?

Here, I present you with reading material.

"Funny that Christians want to claim the role of the abused, when most of the time, they are the abuser."

That is absolutely false. You just pulled that out your rear end. Back it up or take it back.

Ten Commandments?

I do not think most of you understand the Supreme Courts Decision to overright Roy Moore's insistence to place a ten commandment's plaque at the courthouse.

The US Constitution in America is a secular Constitution. Placing the plaque is a direct violation of that law.

Imagine if Roy Moore decides to place some Koran verses, or some Satanic bible?

For all you know you use your rear end quite often for nefarious means?

Well, even so, that's your right....

Discrimination by atheists normally takes the form of religious bashing, and from time to time, against religious bigots who do not deserve any words of goodwill.

I don't think there is anything wrong with that. We don't discriminate christians as a whole, and I for one will not do that.

Yes, I hate Christianity because it is pretty stupid, I hate Jerry Falwell and his fellow hatemongers, but no, I don't hate all christians.

I believe that applies to most atheists as well.

I think atheists in general are fed up with kowtowing to religious nutheads who demand respect for their religion at every turn. Eminent scientists, such as Dawkins, have taken a stand against ignorance and religious bigotry, and that can only be a good thing, cos they give a voice to the atheist community....

So you hate a guy that speaks out harshly against homosexuals, atheists, etc. by speaking harshly against beliefs of Christianity?

Wouldn't that make you the same as the very one you hate?

Not really. Does hating Hitler for massacring Jews makes me hitler? I think not!

Besides, when I hate Falwell and Pat Robertson, its just two morons, not the entire Christian community!

Even the blind can see the difference!

John Bunyan

To be saved is to be preserved in the faith to the end. 'He that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.' (Mt. 24:13) Not that perseverance is an accident in Christianity, or a thing performed by human industry; they that are saved 'are kept by the power of God, through faith unto salvation.' (1 Pet. 1: 3-6) But perseverance is absolutely necessary to the complete saving of the soul…. He that goeth to sea with a purpose to arrive at Spain, cannot arrive there if he be drowned by the way; wherefore perseverance is absolutely necessary to the saving of the soul.
